Ribbons and rosettes, medallions and trophies
Having your dogs shown and paying their show fees
Washing and stripping and aprons with strings
These are a few of my favorite things.
White-colored doggies and tri-colored bitches
Have cost me a fortune and most of my riches
Feeding and cleaning, like slaves of the kings
These are a few of my favorite things.
Red and green dresses and jackets of satin
All the food eaten, my body to fatten
Christmas at Long Beach; New Years at Palm Springs
These are a few of my favorite things.
When the dogs bark
When it’s so dark
Just before the dawn
I simply remember my favorite things
Remembering dogs long gone.
